Another find at the Renegade Craft Fair was Dandy Lion Press – owned and operated by Maia Karolina de Raat. She owns a letterpress upon which she makes amazing cards and stationary inspired by animals – real and imaginary – I think.
Maia also makes calendars annually it appears – the first it appears was lsat years marine animals calendar.
The image above is the card I purchased – her puffer fish from the calendar that has been made into a card. It doesn’t even look like a puffer fish to me – for some reason it reminds me of old old painting in how ornate it is.
Amazing, floating jellyfish.
Maia’s upcoming calendar is going to be all about jackalopes, which I know nothing about – except that they appear to be rabbits with horns! As a former bunny owner I think this is a very fun project.
Another of her jackalopes – so cool! I also like that her company is named Dandy Lion instead of Dandelion – a good pun isn’t often lost on me.
